The initiative, promoted by the Fondazione Ceramica Montelupo and supported by the Region of Tuscany as part of the Toscanaincontemporanea 2025 program, is proof of the cultural vitality of the area. The participation of artists from the US, China, France, Brazil, New Zealand, and many other countries underscores the international appeal of the award.
The jury, composed of high-profile experts such as Christian Caliandro, Eric Landon (Tortus), and Matteo Zauli, selected 56 finalists. Among these, 17 young artists under the age of 35 stand out, testifying to the desire to open new paths for emerging talent. Here too, Open Studio finds its deepest meaning: to create dialogue between generations and cultures through art.

Im Blick geformt –
Waiting for resonance
4 works, newly presented to the eye of the viewer. 4 works, set in contrast with the process of their creation. 4 works, growing together into a film, yet each one standing on its own in compelling clarity.
“Waiting for resonance” tells the stories and ideas behind the works of Maša Bušić. It interprets their artistic arcs and reimagines them from the perspective of the filmmakers. How do we, as viewers, look at a work and perceive it? Through which narrative can we expand its meaning and multiply its impact? With 4 distinct narratives, we grasp and expand the intention of each work in its own way.
The distinctive visual language, despite its diverse modes of narration and expression, conveys a tangible sense of physical closeness to each individual work. It creates an immersive space in which a work is no longer perceived as an object but as the manifestation of an idea. The unmistakable soundscape guides us through the clearly differentiated visual vignettes: at times powerful and untamed, then again delicate and tender, but always honest and with a clear gaze toward the story of the work.
“Waiting for resonance”— a film that does not simply document or stage, but presents itself as an interdisciplinary work in its own right.
